On December 26th, an education delegation composed of the Departments of Education and Sports of Khammouane Province, Bolikhamxay Province, Xaysomboun Province and Savannakhet Province in Laos visited Liupanshui Normal University for exchanges. Cheng Xuquan, President of Liupanshui Normal University, and Zhang Long, Vice President, attended the exchange symposium, which was chaired by Zhang Long.

Cheng Xuquan extended a warm welcome to the Laos Education Delegation and introduced LNU's major settings, the enrollment of international students in China, international exchanges and other aspects, as well as the work achievements and experiences of LNU in teaching reform in recent years. Cheng Xuquan pointed out that China and Laos are connected by mountains and rivers, and the exchanges between the two peoples have a long history. Against the backdrop of the continuous deepening of the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, in line with the actual development needs, there is huge room for cooperation between the two sides in areas such as joint education programs, teacher training and talent cultivation. He hoped that the two sides would join hands to contribute to the educational development of China and Laos, and also welcomed more outstanding Lao students to study further at Liupanshui Normal University.

Mr. DOUANGMALA PHOMMACHANH, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Khammouane Province in Laos, on behalf of the delegation, expressed sincere gratitude for LNU's warm hospitality and meticulous arrangements. He introduced the development of education in Laos and analyzed the talent needs for the domestic economic and social development in Laos. He said that the school-running characteristics, teaching facilities and equipment, and campus scenery of LNU had left a deep impression on him. He hoped that the two sides would deepen cooperation around aspects such as teacher training, the study needs of Lao students, and the dispatch of teaching staff to support education in Laos, and continuously improve the construction level of the teaching staff and the quality of talent cultivation on both sides. The two sides also exchanged souvenirs at the meeting.

In addition, the Laos Education Delegation conducts on-campus field visits and investigations, and visited the Soul of China relief wall, international student dormitories, the library, international student classrooms and so on.
